Will Tyler Adams play for the United States in CONCACAF Nations League?

The Bournemouth player is already back with the US national team squad after returning to the field in the Premier League.

In addition to the great form of players like Ricardo Pepi, Weston McKennie, and Christian Pulisic – the latter beating his personal best with AC Milan – the United States received another piece of great news: midfielder Tyler Adams returned to the pitch last week and is now with the national team.

Adams back for Team USA

The 25-year-old midfielder had been sidelined for several months due to a thigh injury, only managing to play for 20 minutes in the Carabao Cup match in which his team defeated Stoke City 2-0 on 27 September 2023.

With the national team, he hasn’t appeared since the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. During that tournament, he displayed great leadership by wearing the captain’s armband in the competition where Gregg Berhalter’s side was eliminated in the Round of 16 by the Netherlands.

The United States will enter next Thursday’s match against Jamaica at the AT&T Stadium with their players in a good place, eager to face off against a Jamaica side that aims to spring a surprise in the tournament. Adams is expected to get some pitchtime, but likely from the bench.

Player news for USMNT

Pulisic scored for the fourth consecutive game with Milan; Haji Wright and Brenden Aaronson, who were late additions to the squad following injuries to Josh Sargent and Luca De la Torre, also found the net over the weekend. Additionally, McKennie is in fine form at Juventus.

The main concerns lie with Nottingham Forest, where neither goalkeeper Matt Turner nor winger Giovanni Reyna have consistently had much playing time, and they will arrive at the CONCACAF Final Four match with little activity.
