Alexandre Lacazette subject of significant Saudi Arabian interest

According to L’Équipe, Olympique Lyonnais captain Alexandre Lacazette (32) is the subject of significant interest from the Saudi Pro League.

Lacazette, who returned to boyhood club Lyon at the beginning of the 2022/23 season, joining on a free transfer from Arsenal, has been in fine goal-scoring form. This season, only Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappé (24) and Lille OSC’s Jonathan David (15) have scored more than Lacazette’s 13 goals in Ligue 1.

The Frenchman’s future at OL was questioned in January. With his formative club threatened by relegation, it was rumoured that Lacazette and Corentin Tolisso may jump ship. Ultimately, both remained and Lyon remain determined to retain Lacazette.

However, it may be difficult to do so. According to L’Équipe, Lacazette is garnering some serious interest from Saudi Arabia and an approach can be expected during the summer transfer window, at which point, the former Arsenal man will have just one year remaining on his contract.
