PSG goalkeeper Keylor Navas announces retirement from Costa Rica national team

The goalkeeper put an end to speculation and will not be in the Copa América.

The greatest exponent of Costa Rican soccer in recent years put an end to his career in the national team with which he played 114 international matches.

Through a video published on his social networks, the goalkeeper confirmed that he will no longer continue to be part of the national team.

“This chapter of my life comes to an end, I leave with a heart full of gratitude and my eyes looking forward always carrying the name of our beloved Costa Rica,” said the goalkeeper in a video in which he reviews from his beginnings to his the best logres.

The 37-year-old goalkeeper had already been meditating on this decision, proof of this was that for months he had been very cautious with his words regarding until when he was going to be playing, however, this Thursday he clarified his future once and for all.

Keylor Navas debuted with the Costa Rica national team on October 12, 2008 in the qualifying round for South Africa 2010. In his 114 appearances he managed to play in three World Cups, with Brazil 2014 being the most special where he was the highest point of the Tico football reaching the quarterfinals.
