Unsettled Xavi Simons has chosen the destination for his next loan move

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Xavi Simons (21) is set to once again go out on loan next season, with the midfielder already having expressed his desire to return to one of his former clubs, reports Foot Mercato.

Xavi Simons wants FC Barcelona move

The Dutch youngster spent nine years in Barcelona’s La Masia youth academy before joining Paris Saint-Germain’s setup as a 16 year old, making seven appearances for the French champions before joining Eredivisie outfit PSV Eindhoven. After a stellar season in his native Netherlands, he returned to PSG upon activation of the 6M€ release cause in his contract. Last season, the attacking midfielder registered 10 goals and 15 assists in 43 matches on loan at RB Leipzig.

According to Spanish sports daily Mundo Deportivo, an initial loan move would suit the Blaugrana as they take steps to address the financial issues that have plagued the club for the past few years, and with Simons determined to make the move back to Catalunya, the move could suit both parties.

PSG coach Luis Enrique addressed Simons’ situation on a Twitch stream this week:

Staying in the French capital seems unlikely, with the young talent determined to return to Spain. A matter of time?
