Emma Hayes took her first training session with the US women’s national team on Tuesday as the Americans begin their preparations for the Olympics.

The USA will begin their Paris Olympics campaign on July 25 vs. Zambia before facing Germany and Australia in group play as well.

Before that, though, Hayes’ squad will play four warmup friendlies, and the ex-Chelsea women’s boss looked to be in good spirits as the USA practiced on the University of Colorado’s campus.

The USWNT’s official X account shared a photo of Hayes with the caption, ‘Emma on the job.’

The London-born coach donned a USA baseball cap as she took the field for practice.

Hayes departed Chelsea as the most decorated women’s manager in British history, winning seven league titles, five women’s FA Cups and two women’s League Cups with the Blues.

And after being named the USWNT’s new coach in November, she’s jumping into the deep end right away in her new role with the Olympics taking place this summer.

The USA will play South Korea on June 1 and 4, Mexico on July 13 and Costa Rica on July 16 before traveling to France.

Hayes named her first squad last week ahead of the friendlies with South Korea, which will take place in Commerce City, Colorado and then St. Paul, Minnesota.

The squad included 23 players, including the likes of mainstays Trinity Rodman, Sophia Smith and Rose Lavelle.

Hayes will then name her final squad for the Olympics ahead of the friendlies vs. Mexico and Costa Rica.

‘I know they are a highly coachable group and I’m looking forward to challenging them,’ Hayes said last week.

‘It’s time to go to work.’
