Football fans mocked Reece James for his recent appearance at a fashion show – where he appeared to be mopping floors.

The Chelsea and England defender has been suffering with injuries during the season, which is why he missed out on the national team squad for Euro 2024.

In his downtime before pre-season starts up, 24-year-old James walked the runway for LA-based luxury brand Nahmias, but fans were quick to laugh at the Blues star, who was dressed as a janitor for the experience.

One wrote on X (fka Twitter): ‘Reece James mopping floors while Trent Alexander Arnold is wearing No.8 for England at the Euros….’

Another linked to the official England portrait of the Liverpool star, and noted: ‘England’s #8 Trent Alexander Arnold and then there’s mopping floor Reece James. Levels’.

‘Stepping up for country? No ! Reece James shows his cleaning skills’, wrote another user.

A fourth added ‘Reece James finally found something He’s good at’, followed by two crying laughter emojis.

Due to his injury problems, James played just 30 minutes of action for the Blues in 2024, and was left out of Gareth Southgate’s plans for this summer’s tournament.

It was an unhappy club campaign for the centre-back and Chelsea captain, who was red carded twice at Newcastle and Brighton for silly reasons.

Having missed their final game of the season against Bournemouth last month, he will also be suspended for the first three matches of the upcoming campaign.

Chelsea’s bid to cancel his suspension for the start of the next season has been unsuccessful after their reasoning was rejected by the FA.

The Nahmias Spring/Summer 2025 Menswear event in Los Angeles on Sunday also attracted Travis Barker, who was supporting his son, model Landon Barker, and featured a performance from Machine Gun Kelly.

The event had an American high school theme, with James dressing up in the role as a janitor, and acting with a mop and bucket.
