Gabriel Jesus makes huge Harry Kane claim ahead of Arsenal vs Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has a prolific goal tally against Arsenal – but a wretched record at the Emirates.

Bayern Munich striker Kane has scored 38 goals for the German giants this season and will be Arsenal’s biggest worry in their Champions League quarter final. Kane has a sensational record against Arsenal – with 14 goals in 19 appearances – and admits part of that is driven by being rejected by the Gunners as a kid.

But former Tottenham striker Kane has NEVER won at the Emirates in the Premier League and has not scored from open play since November 2015. Kane has scored five goals – including four penalties – against Arsenal at the Emirates in eight league games but his record is strangely deceiving. In those eight games, Kane has managed three draws and suffered five defeats.

England captain Kane did win at the Emirates in December 2019 in the League Cup when he came on as a 58th minute substitute. Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane said: “It will be a special game for him, no doubts about that and I’m sure he’s really looking forward to it. I hope he continues with the record, I hope he does well in the game because that means he will do very well for us.”

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has already warned that Arsenal cannot get too tied up on only worrying about Kane as Bayern provide a bigger threat. When asked whether Kane’s record will be a factor, Arteta said: “Hopefully not.

“It’s not only him. It’s a team function, the individuals they have. We know the individual qualities of all those players and him in particular, the ability he has. The best thing to do is what we do collectively to try to prevent certain things.

“It’s about consistency. When you look at his numbers over the last 10 years, it’s unbelievable what he’s done. He can score in many different ways, he’s got the service and players around him to provide those opportunities. This is what we have to try to avoid.”

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus added: “Everyone knows the quality of Harry Kane. For me, personally, he’s the best finisher in the world. So, it’s great to obviously play against these kind of players. We want to keep him quiet in the game – and then we try to win the game.

“Also, it’s not only Harry Kane, but a lot of players like Sane, my old friend, Musiala, Coman, Muller – what a player – Gnabry. It’s a lot. They have quality players there. It’s hard to explain [what makes Kane the best finisher in the world], maybe he can explain it to you, me not.

“But, in my opinion, he can finish with his head, left or right [foot]. Since I arrived in Europe, for me in that time he’s one of the best and at this time he is the best finisher in the world.”
