BREAKING: Roma vs Udinese has been abandoned after defender Ndicka collapsed on the pitch

Roma’s game away to Udinese on Sunday was abandoned after defender Evan Ndicka had to be taken off on a stretcher having suddenly collapsed on the pitch.

The Serie A clash was suspended due to concern over the French-born centre-back’s wellbeing. There was 18 minutes remaining and the score was 1-1.

Roma striker Romelu Lukaku equalised in the 64th minute after former Watford midfielder Roberto Pereyra had given the hosts an early lead. Shortly after Lukaku’s strike, 24-year-old Ndicka went down off the ball.

After the Ivory Coast international was stretchered off, both sets of players were seen in discussion with the match referee, Luca Pairetto. Roma manager Daniele De Rossi and Udinese boss Gabriele Cioffi were also involved in the talks.
