Possible Bayern Munich lineup for today’s UCL semi-final against Real Madrid

There appears to be good news for Bayern surrounding Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sané, but less so regarding Matthijs de Ligt and Kingsley Coman.

Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has been handed a huge boost ahead of the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid with the news that several first-team regulars appear to have overcome various fitness issues and are in contention to start at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday.

Bayern injury update: Musiala, Sané, De Ligt, Coman…

Jamal Musiala (knee tendon issue), Serge Gnabry (hamstring strain), Leroy Sané (pubis) and Konrad Laimer (ankle) all trained as normal for the first 15 minutes of Monday’s session, which the media were able to sit in on. As a result, they should be available to face Los Blancos.

However, there was no sign of Matthijs de Ligt, who suffered a knee injury during 2-1 league win against Eintracht Frankfurt at the weekend. The Dutch defender is therefore unlikely to be involved, which means former Napoli centre-back Kim Minjae looks set to start alongside Eric Dier at the back. Dayot Upamecano, who has been struggling with an ankle issue, is a doubt after a lighter workout on Monday.

Winger Kingsley Coman, who scored the winner in the 2020 Champions League final against PSG, has been ruled out, as have defenders Bouna Sarr, Sacha Boey and Tarek Buchmann.

Possible Bayern Munich XI to play Real Madrid

Substitutes: Peretz, Ulreich, Davies, Upamecano, Gnabry, Müller, Pavlovic, Zaragoza, Choupo-Moting, Tel.

Striker Harry Kane, who has scored 42 goals in all competitions so far this season, is locked in a battle with PSG’s Kylian Mbappé to finish as the Champions League top scorer. As it stands, the England captain has netted seven times in 2023/24, one fewer than his French counterpart.
