Man United fans urge Ten Hag to stay at club after their FA Cup final victory

Manchester United fans have thrown their support behind manager Erik ten Hag and declared they want him to stay at the club following their FA Cup Final victory over Manchester City.

Goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo saw the Red Devils pull off a 2-1 win over the rivals, booking their place in European competition for next season through the Europa League.

Despite the win Ten Hag’s future at the club remains uncertain, with reports last week that he was out of a job whatever the outcome at Wembley.

New minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to be keen on replacing the Dutchman and a number of names have been linked as replacements in the Old Trafford hot seat.

Yet, there remains a huge swell of support for Ten Hag from the United faithful. With many taking to social media to back the under pressure boss.

One post read: ‘I genuinely think if they sack him I’m gonna feel a different way about this club. They physically can’t.

‘He’s done what no other manager could’ve done here considering the circumstances.’

That message was backed by many, with some simply stating ‘Ten Hag please stay’ and another posting an image that read ‘Back Ten Hag’ with the words ‘Ten Hag wins the FA Cup. What now haters.’

Another post pointed to the injuries the Dutch boss had to deal with this season and said, ‘Ten Hag with fit players. Can’t sack him after that.’

While another simply stated, ‘Ten Hag can stay forever, I don’t f***ing care!’

The support and win over the Premier League champions could present quite a dilemma for the Man United owners, with belief they are still keen to part ways with Ten Hag.

England boss Gareth Southgate has been repeatedly mentioned as a possible candidate for the job, while Mauricio Pochettino’s recent availability would also put him in the frame.

Reports have suggested the club have already had discussions with Ipswich boss and former United coach Kieran McKenna, as well as Thomas Tuchel, who’s a free agent after leaving Bayern Munich.
