Aston Villa are launching a bid for Lazio midfielder Matteo Guendouzi.

Il Corriere dello Sport says Villa boss Unai Emery wants a reunion with his former Arsenal midfielder.

The negotiations have not yet started, but there are the conditions for it to take off within a couple of weeks. The interest has been confirmed by the Frenchman’s entourage.

Lazio are willing to sell, with president Claudio Lotito eager to cash in to boost coach Igor Tudor’s transfer plans.

Guendouzi fell out with Tudor towards the end of last season.
