Ancelotti confirms Courtois will start the UCL final tomorrow against Dortmund

Carlo Ancelotti confirms Thibaut Courtois will start the Champions League final tomorrow against Borussia Dortmund with Andriy Lunin to be on the bench after suffering with flu.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed a key piece of team news ahead of tomorrow’s UEFA Champions League final.

Los Blancos have arrived in London ahead of facing Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium.

Ancelotti’s charges are heavy favourites to clinch a 15th European Cup/Champions League title after already being confirmed as La Liga champions this month.

The build up around the final has focused on a few remaining selection calls for Ancelotti with his goal keeping pick still up for debate.

Andriy Lunin started both semi final games against Bayern Munich, and played a key role in helping Real Madrid to the final, but he will be on the bench against Dortmund.

Thibaut Courtois’ return to fitness has changed Ancelotti’s mind and the Belgian stopper will take his place between the posts for this crucial game.

“Lunin travels tomorrow (to Wembley) and he will start on the bench. Courtois will play”, Ancelotti stated clearly in his pre match press conference.

The only other starting change from the Bayern second leg is expected in midfield with Eduardo Camavinga replacing the injured Aurelien Tchouameni.
