According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are on the verge of completing the signing of Brazilian full-back Pedro Lima (17), however, he will not immediately join the Premier League side. Instead, he will follow the path demarcated by compatriots Ângelo Gabriel and Andrey Santos by spending a year on loan at RC Strasbourg Alsace.

Chelsea are continuing apace in their strategy to acquire South American talent. Lima is set to be the latest one to land at Stamford Bridge. Despite reported late interest from Real Madrid, he is set to join Chelsea with a fee currently being negotiated with Sport Recife. According to Romano, only the final details need to be sorted before the move is sealed.

With the Blues already having reached an agreement on personal terms, once an agreement is struck between the two clubs, Lima will become a Chelsea player. However, he will immediately join sister club Strasbourg in Ligue 1, in order to give him a chance of first-team football next campaign.
