Man Utd star Harry Maguire enjoys holiday at £6,400-a-night Turkey hotel as he gets over England Euro squad heartbreak

MANCHESTER UNITED defender Harry Maguire has been spotted enjoying a luxurious holiday in Turkey after missing out on a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

Maguire, 31, was left heartbroken last week after being left out of the 26-man squad due to injury.

The centre-back has been nursing a calf issue since April.

He was named in Southgate’s provisional 33-man squad at the end of May but struggled to fully recover in time for Euro 2024, which kicks off tonight.

Confirming the news on X last Thursday, he wrote: “I am devastated not to have been selected to play for England at the Euros this summer.

“Despite my best efforts, I have not been able to overcome an injury to my calf. Maybe I pushed myself too hard, to try and make it.

“Simply, I am absolutely gutted. For me, representing England is the highest honour. It means everything to me.

“If I can’t help the team as a player, I will support them as a fan – along with the rest of the country. Go and win it boys.

“Next, I will return to the supervision of the Manchester United medical team in order to prepare for next season.”

Before returning to Man Utd to continue his recovery, Maguire has jetted off to Turkey for a well-earned break.

He was spotted soaking up the sun at the Maxx Royal Belek resort this week.

The resort is a five-star golf and spa hotel, located on the coast of Belek.

Deluxe accommodation costs up to £6,400 per night, while a suite can set someone back £554 a night.

One holiday-goer has claimed Maguire is “relaxed” and “in very good spirits”, according to the Daily Mail.

The defender is one of seven players to have missed out on this summer’s European Championships.

James Maddison, Jack Grealish, Jarrad Branthwaite, Jarell Quansah, Curtis Jones and James Trafford also failed to make the cut.
