Kyle Walker names David Silva & forgotten Spurs star as best he’s played with

Kyle Walker has named David Silva and Mousa Dembele as the best players he has played with.

The 33-year-old has spent the majority of his career with Tottenham and Manchester City, where he has linked up with the likes of Harry Kane, Luka Modric, Gareth Bale, Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland to name a few.

But the defender picked out two of his former midfielder colleagues – both left footers – who shared a few similar traits.

On City’s Spanish maestro, Walker highlighted his ability to cover up errors, while he lauded Dembele’s overall quality when reminiscing on his time with the expert dribbler at White Hart Lane.

‘You pass [Silva] a bad ball and he makes it look like a good ball – he makes you look better,’ Walker he told told Rio Ferdinand on Vibe with FIVE. ‘David was so good. All-rounder, Kevin [de Bruyne], but David individually.

‘I’ve said Mousa Dembele countless times. He’s a scandal. The only thing Dembele didn’t have was assists and goals, but he had stupid talent – it shouldn’t have been allowed.’

Walker was asked if Dembele would be able to play in City’s current side, he confidently replied: ‘One million per cent.’

The pair made 139 appearances together for Spurs and were key in the side’s Premier League title challenges in 2017 and 2017.

After 249 games for the north London club, the Belgian left for Chinese side Guangzhou City FC in January 2019.

Walker himself departed the club in 2017 for Pep Guardiola’s City and has enjoyed a trophy-laden seven-year spell in Manchester. He featured in 103 games with Silva and won two Premier League titles, two League Cups and the FA Cup.
