Crystal Palace offer Olise bumper new deal including ‘release clause for 2025’

Crystal Palace are set to offer star winger Michael Olise a new deal, according to reports.

Posting on X, Fabrizio Romano claims the deal will see Olise receive a higher salary and a new release clause, set for 2025.

But this hasn’t deterred Chelsea in their pursuit of the Palace winger, who have reportedly been in contact with him since last week.

It’s believed they’re ready to ‘push on and agree personal terms’ with Olise, who is thought to be keen on joining the west London club.

The Blues failed in their attempts to sign Olise last summer despite making a £35million offer, a bid they believed activated a complex release clause in his contract.

Chelsea renewed their interest in the attacker this week by making an enquiry to Crystal Palace.

Olise has a complicated release clause worth up to £60million in his contract, which he signed after Chelsea failed in their bid to lure him to Stamford Bridge last year.

Meanwhile, Newcastle and Bayern Munich are ‘free to talk’ to the player, with both understood to be long-term admirers.

There are rumours that the Blues are lining up a player-plus-cash deal to make a transfer happen, but it’s likely Todd Boehly and his Stamford Bridge chiefs will have to pay a premium to secure the 22-year-old’s signature.

Insiders at the club reportedly believe Olise could provide significant firepower to the ranks of incoming manager Enzo Maresca’s squad, and could potentially offer Noni Madueke or Raheem Sterling as makeweights.

Olise’s star has been steadily rising at Palace over the past two seasons, and he’s now made 82 league appearances in which he’s scored 14 goals.

Signing for Chelsea would mark something of a homecoming for Olise, who spent a large proportion of his younger career in their youth ranks, between 2009 and 2016.
