Real Madrid have agreement in place with Liverpool target over £42m move

Real Madrid already have a transfer agreement in place with Liverpool target Leny Yoro.

The Champions League winners have established themselves as the defender’s preferred destination should he depart Lille this summer, claim reports in Spain. But a move for Yoro is dependent on whether Los Blancos veteran Nacho moves to the Saudi Pro League this summer.

The 34-year-old could yet extend his stay at the Bernabeu with an offer of another year in the Spanish capital on the table until the end of this month. Should Nacho complete a move before June closes, Real will action their move to utilise Yoro’s talents immediately and if not they could look to facilitate the move in 12 months.

Yoro’s arrival is deemed as important as that of Raphael Varane in 2011 and the La Liga side hope to employ a tactic to land the 18-year-old that proved successful with Jude Bellingham. Los Merengues hope to utilise Yoro’s agreement to utilise the defender to make clear to Lille that he wants to move to the Spanish capital, and would be willing to wait 12 months to do so.

The French prospect has one year remaining on his contract but Lille still have lofty demands. A fee of up to £50million has been pitched though Real Madrid are hopeful of a figure nearer £34m.

There is a great deal of interest in his signature, however. Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayern Munich have all been linked with a transfer.

Lille are said to have already rejected a bid from Liverpool worth £42m, while United’s efforts could depend on their success in landing Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite. Lille president Olivier Letang has already confirmed that Yoro will be allowed to leave the club this summer.

Should Nacho leave Real Madrid this summer, the club would be left with just three senior central defenders, Antonio Rudiger, Eder Militao and David Alaba. The latter is still recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury and is unlikely to be fit in time for the start of next season.
