Euro 2024 fans ‘Not Surprised’ by Morten Hjulmand’s rocket against England

Gareth Southgate’s men missed the opportunity to secure their spot in the last-16 for Euro 2024 with one game to spare.

Harry Kane gave England the lead early on after Kyle Walker’s cross attempt bounced off of two Danish defenders before falling to Kane who made no mistake.

But once the goal had gone in, England became increasingly sloppy and looked more and more unconvincing – And all it took was a moment of individual excellence from Sporting Lisbon’s midfielder Morten Hjulmand for the Danes to claw one back.

Fans took to the social media platform X immediately to discuss Hjulmand’s rocket with one fan saying he wasn’t ‘surprised’ that the Dane was able to pull out a goal like that.

Why? Because he has an Arsenal tattoo.

X user Dan Critchlow took to the platform to give his reasoning for how the Sporting Lisbon was able to produce a world-class goal, which will definitely be a contender for goal of the tournament.

Many may be unaware that the Tottenham target grew up as an avid Arsenal fan and has the Gunners’ club crest tattooed on his upper left arm.

Speaking to Portuguese outlet Record, Hjulmand, who idolised Patrick Vieira as a child, revealed his devotion for Arsenal had been passed down from his father.

‘My dad supported Arsenal and we watched games together when we were younger,’ he said.
