Wesley Fofana’s wife hints at divorce after removing Chelsea defender’s surname

Wesley Fofana’s wife has hinted at a potential divorce between the pair after removing the Chelsea defender’s surname from her Instagram account.

It comes after Fofana and Cyrine Sabeur unfollowed each other on Instagram and deleted all photos of the pair together from their respective pages back in March.

This sparked fears of a potential crisis in their marriage, which has only been strengthened by the change on her account.

The pair have been married since June 2022, tying the knot at the luxury Yacht Club De Monaco after publicly revealing that they were in a relationship in an Instagram post a year prior.

There has been a further hint that the two have split up on one of her posts on Instagram.

A photo captioned: ‘Some pink for my first day as Ms,’ the day after their wedding, has appeared to recently be changed to just ‘some pink’.

Both were born in the Marseille region of France, with Cyrine two years older than her husband and forging a successful career within a consulting association.

Cyrine has been working as vice-president at Europe Etudes over the past four years, as per her LinkedIn and boasts a lavish lifestyle on her Instagram page.

However, this is not the first time the couple have had their marriage thrown into question after Cyrine temporarily made her page private last year.

She later returned her profile to public access amid reports previous difficulties had been ironed out, but the latest online activities suggests problems have arose again.

Both the Chelsea player and Cyrine have unfollowed each other on Instagram, with nothing showing when account names are typed into each followers list on the online platform.

The only posts from their wedding day and other romantic time spent now appears in the tagged sections of their Instagram profiles where friends, family and other profiles have posted on their own accounts.

Fofana and his wife moved to London together where they share a home after the 22-year-old secured his £70m move to Stamford Bridge from Leicester in 2022.

His career at the London club has been blighted by injury with Fofana undergoing anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery in July last year.

Fofana will be hoping to get off on the right start under new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca next season.
